Korean Movie: Calla
This is a 1999 movie starring Seon-woo (Song Seung-Hun from Autumn in My Heart) and Ji-hee (Kim Hee-seon). Seon-woo receives calla (a type of flower) every morning and wants to find out who his secret admirer is. One day, he goes to a nearby florist’s where he meets Ji-hee. He falls in love with her at first sight, thinking she is the one who is sending him flowers. Seon-woo asks Ji-hee to go on a date and “she” agrees. He arrives at the meeting place only to find that Ji-hee is held hostage and, to his horror, killed before his eyes. Sadly he walked away and on his way down the elevator, he is transported back in time where he has the chance to prevent this mishap from happening; to change history. This movie actually incorporated the theory about going back in time, how things going to happen and shows that there is always a reason and cause for the events that has happened. Quite interesting story line but the speech and expression were rather dull. But great effort for the plot in the movie. The theme song is very nice= “Je m’appelle Helene”. You can hear it from the clip below.
