Korean Movie: The Guy Was Cool

The 2004 movie (also known as “He Was Cool”) is about a cheerful high school student named Han Ye Won (Jung Da Bin from My 19 Year Old Sister in Law) and a bully named Ji Eun Song (Song Seung Hun from Autumn in My Heart). One day, Ye-Won leaves a message on the school website to reply to Eun Song’s impolite message. She is shocked when someone calls her mobile and threatens her. Ye-won tries to run away from him but Eun Song wants her to be his girlfriend when they accidentally kissed.

The storyline continues fast; at the beginning Ye-won doesn’t have any feelings for Eun Song, she even rejects his invitation to come to his birthday party. Unknowingly, Eun Song has fallen in love with her. Yeap, as expected since this is a Korean romance/comedy movie. In this movie, Seung Hun acted “cooly” and “macho”. There are two fight scenes, one is between him and more than 6 opponents where he won.

Although he is rude and bad-tempered, Eun Song always pardons Ye-Won’s faults and clumsiness. Love is blind. =p One day he found out that Ye-Won went out with Kim Han Sung, his senior and the one he hates a lot (you’ll know why he hates him in one of the scenes). The broken-hearted Ji-Eun Song decides to leave Korea following his mother to the USA. So, will the two be together? Don’t assume that all Korean movies have the same ending. =) Watch the movie and find the answer.
