New plan with Sony Ericsson K800i

Just got my last month phone bill and I got a shock of my life. My wallet is lighter now by a light orange yellow ‘paper’. My bill shoot up it’s highest ever, and for the past two months, my phone usage was definitely out of proportion (and control, of course). I was not expecting my phone bill to be so high. Now, i realised that I have been using too much and this wasn’t really under my control. I do not have any free incoming call, so whenever people call me, I will have to pay for the talktime too. Why is this case even though there are so many plans with free incoming calls offered by M1, Singtel and Starhub? My current plan with M1 is an old plan, 4-5 years old. It’s good if I like to make calls at night since I have 400 minutes free, but my day free talktime is only 35 minutes a month!!. Erm, about 1 minute perday unless I pay for the extras (which I have been paying for the past few months) And about the SMS, I will have to blame myself. Definitely did not expect myself to send almost 4 figure messages to my friends. which equals to almost 30 messages a day!!!

I should control myself from now on. Going to stop the itchy hands of sending messages. I am considering of changing to a new plan now. Should be switching to Singtel since they have this campus call for students. Free outgoing calls of up to 333 minutes and 1000 SMSes. I’ll see how things go. Also, I’m considering of getting a new handset as well. My current phone is Nokia 3315, an “antique” black and white phone. Frankly saying, this phone is very durable. It has been with me for almost 4 years. And the battery still can last for about 4 days (standby time). Anyway, I’m eyeing this phone now: Sony Ericsson K800i. It was released this year in June, I think.

What’s good about this phone? It has a very good camera (3.2 Megapixel), a xenon flash, BestPic Techology, autofocus and digital zoom and Cybershot Technology. K800i sounds more like a camera rather than a phone. Anyway, K800i is a 3G phone and it has a very nice screen- 2.5 inches and 262,144-colour TFT screen. It can also support memory of up to 2GB. What makes me attracted to this phone is the very clear and sharp screen. It also can function well as a standard digital camera. It’s new but a bit expensive. It’s priced around $539 with a two year plan. What would be the weakness in this phone would be how fast the phone can process the stuff. Since it has so many functions, I think the phone may be slow at some stages. Let’s see how things go. I could be using my Nokia for another year. Haha. Hey, I think I should try to see if this phone can last for ten years. Cool. Then I could set a new World Record for having the longest surviving cellphone.
