NUSSU Bizcom Bash

NUSSU Business Committee held her yearly bash, this year themed as “Ring-a-Fling” on 27th October 2006 at Zouk. Considering that the Bash Committee was formed about one month before the event, the Bash was considered a quite successful one except for some glitches.

Which areas are worth commenting?
Firstly the limited time that they have to find a venue, create a theme, find sponsors (includes negotiations and signing of contracts), do publicity- All within a month or so.
Secondly, the program on that night was a bit interesting (although the whole thing started late and had to be cut short). The fashion show is okay. The game segment was good too. There’s this game where two models are supposed to call two person on their handphone (suits the theme) and these two guys are supposed to come on stage and dance with the models. Yeah, the calling part was interesting.
Thirdly, the prizes were quite attractive too. There were 3 i-Pod Nano given out on that night. Other lucky draw prizes include Deuter bags, shades, vouchers and tops. The funny part is that the tops were given out to guys, not one but two guys. How “lucky” they were. Yeap, great job in finding sponsors in such short time frame.

Which areas need to take note of? (Purely my comments)
The publicity did not go so smooth as planned. Not many of the committee members came down. In fact, quite a large number of sub-coms people did not come to help out at the booth. I only saw mostly Bash Main Comm and Bizcom Main Comm. There were some miscommunications about the publicity items as well. Some resources were wasted unnecessarily. But the mannequins around the school was a great idea. Just that the committee failed to dress up or put any Bash information on the mannequins after a few days.
Another point is that the organisers name failed to make an impact on students. People thought that it was organised by Bizad Club but in fact it was by NUSSU Business Committee (Bizcom).
Lastly, the time given for the committee to organise a bash. One month is definitely too short for most of them. This time round, they made it a success but how about in the future?

So, did I enjoy myself? Sort of. Spent the night hanging out with friends. I drank a dunno-what-milky-yellowish-red-alcohol. The music wasn’t that great; it was house music. And it was a bit too crowded at Phuture. (That’s a good news) We had to squeeze our way in and out. Guess what? I nearly lost my voice for shouting the entire night! Diao. That’s the way to talk when the music is too loud.
