Nobel Prize Exhibition
“National University of Singapore is proud to bring you the world-renowned “Cultures of Creativity – the Centennial Exhibition of the Nobel Prizeâ€. Singapore is the 12th destination in this exhibition’s 15-city world tour.
The “Cultures of Creativity†exhibition was launched in 2001 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize. There are two versions of this exhibition: a permanent exhibition at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm, Sweden and an international traveling exhibition. The contents of this Centennial exhibition reflect the history of the Nobel Prize, while focusing on the concept of creativity.”
There are interesting exhibits here at NUS which includes Nobel Prize medals, some inventions like which won Nobel prizes and especially for Singapore, there’s this letter written by Albert Einstein. He was somewhere near Singapore when he received the news that he had won the prize. (What a connection! =p)
Below is the view of his letter and one of his thesis.
Here’s the translation:
I went for the official opening ceremony on 25 October 2006 evening. Among guests were Minister for Education (Mr Tharman), Nobel Museum Director (Prof Lindqvist) and NUS President (Prof Shih).
Me and Kai Hong among the invited guests:
Here are some of pictures taken about the exhibit. There’s this part of Berlin Wall as well. Do visit this exhibition if you have the chance. After all, it’ll only be at certain locations and if you wish to see it next time, you’ll have to travel all the way to Sweden.
