The Se7en Medical Beliefs
The mythical beliefs that we have been told time and again:
1) Drink at least eight glasses of water a day
2) We use only 10% of our brains
3) Hair and fingernails continue to grow after death
4) Reading in dim light ruins your eyesight
5) Shaving causes hair to grow back faster or coarser
6) Mobile phones are dangerous in hospitals
7) Eating turkey makes people especially drowsy
They are no longer beliefs. They are actually “medical mythsâ€. Drinking excessive amounts of water can be dangerous. And those adolescent out there, shaving does not cause the hair to grow back faster or coarser. It’s just an optical illusion. But I will still follow the rule #4. Reading in dim light may not ruin my eyesight but I do not want to stress my eyes out looking at those font size 10 books.
