Alcatraz Island Beau Part 1
It has really been a while since I updated this blog. I’ve never been so taxed out, so tired with so many things to do and handle. My year end holiday is ending soon and the new semester will start again in two weeks time.
I had a trip to Alcatraz Island, a prison off San Francisco city more than a year ago. Also known as the Rock (No, Prison Break wasn’t filmed here). I’ve written an earlier post about Alcatraz when I went there. This time, I’ll be posting a series of pictures about Alcatraz Island, starting with the sea view.
“Alcatraz Island (sometimes referred as The Rock) is a small island located in the middle of San Francisco Bay in California, United States. It served as a lighthouse, then a military fortification, then a military prison followed by a federal prison until 1963, when it became a national recreation area.
Today, the island is a historic site supervised by the National Park Service as part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is open to tours. Visitors can reach the island by ferry ride from Pier 33, near Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco.

In this post, let’s look at the sea view of Alcatraz Island. It looks stunning considering that this place was a prison. Okay, maybe I exaggerate since the view now and last time could be different.
The picture below is one of the nicest views that you can find on Alcatraz Island. Maybe 50 years ago, the tree was too short and the yacht wasn’t there.

Looking through a window of opportunity.

Here’s the Golden Gate Bridge View from Alcatraz Island. The sun was a lil too bright.

And the last view- the San Francisco Skyline. It would have looked even nicer if the shot is taken at night. (There’s also the night tour to Alcatraz so you may want to try out)

I remember seeing this place in a T.V. show somewhere and thinking it would be pretty cool to see!
The pictures are stunning by the way! i love the one of the Golden Gate Bridge!
Great pictures!
I’ve only seen the Alcatraz Island standing from Fisherman’s Wharf. Although I think it would be totally awesome to go on a tour there. It looks exciting and fun!
