Busy bee

I’ve been neglecting this blog. Last year, I still had the time to write a few posts every month. But now, I’ve buried myself deep in the never-ending piles of work. I should really start keeping a distance away from other stuff and focus on what is more important now- my studies. I miss the road trips that I had. And I still have a lot of adventure stories to share. Drove from Grand Canyon to Death Valley, snow-hiked at Crater Lake, snow-boarded down double black at Kirkwood, sea-hiked along Point Lobos, hiked in the Kings Canyon, explored the Giant Sequoia Trees, breakfast at Sausalito and many more.

I’m not sure when I will have the time to write but I’ll keep the pictures as my reminder for now. On a side note, soon, McDonald’s will open 24 hours on campus. Seems like I’m endorsing McD with the photo below. Yes, I will based on how McD is portrayed in this photo. Simply love the angle of the shot.

Happy Birthday, P!

We only live once

Posted on March 18th, 2009 in Thoughts by yeehan

I was reading a post by my good friend, Zwee on his post on Spread e Love. It struck me deep and made me put on my thinking cap again. Life is so fragile and sometimes we just take things for granted. We’ve been totally immersed in our daily routines without realizing our lives past by just like that. Drowning in the rat race yet again. But then again, what Zwee mentioned was true. People do make mistakes and sometimes those mistakes are too embarrassing to share but I shouldn’t regret what I have done. I still remember a quote from the Sports Awards Dinner three years ago: “I race with a philosophy not to regret what I do, meaning, not to cross the finishing line and think I could have done better.”

Below is an excerpt from his post:

“A couple of weeks ago, a perfectly healthy friend was diagnosed with blood cancer. It scares me.

I’m scare i’m unable to do all the things I want to do. Life is unpredictable and fragile. “Live everyday as if it is your last.” It seems so cliche, but it speaks so much truth. Most unfortunately, this is so often forgotten as we slip into our daily routines, watching our lives past us by.

I love the feeling of being inspired, waking up and looking forward to something every single morning. I enjoy doing new things and try stuff that will make my heart jump out. I make mistakes all the time, and at times these mistakes are so embarrassing I would be too ashamed to tell, but i’ve never regretted what I have done. Every experience is something I can look back to and say to myself, I’ve done it. Good or bad. There will be stories and anecdotes to tell and teach the kids and grand kids. ”

We only live once, it’s time to get out, do something and live for something.”
